How to run a badminton tournament
From club night to championship, set up the draw in about a minute.
- Create a tournament in CourtTable, pick badminton and choose a format.
- Choose singles or doubles and set how many courts you have.
- Pick the scoring: games to 21, a shorter game for social nights, or a time limit per round.
- Add players from your directory and press start; CourtTable generates the first round or the full draw.
- Share the link, enter each score as matches finish, and the standings or the bracket update live.
How to play in a badminton tournament
Joining a badminton tournament or club night? Here is what to expect.
- Open the organizer's link or QR code to see your court, partner and opponents.
- Play to the agreed score or time and the organizer records the result.
- In rotating formats your partner changes every round and your points are yours alone; in groups and knockouts you play with a fixed partner.
- Follow the live standings and the bracket on your phone.
Badminton scoring in CourtTable
Badminton uses rally scoring: a game goes to 21, win by 2, capped at 30, and a match is the best of three games. Club nights often play one game to 21 or 15 per round.
- Points race: games to 21, 15 or 11, or a fixed time per round.
- Enter the final score of each game; CourtTable keeps the totals and standings.
- Cap the rounds to fit your hall booking.
Live results for the whole hall
Every badminton tournament gets a public page with the draw, the scores and the standings, updated as you enter results. Put the TV view on a screen in the hall so players know which court to go to next.
